BUSINESS GROWTH CONTINUES IN MOORABOOL
The number of new businesses in Moorabool has jumped by 6.4 per cent in the last 12 months.
The figure for new businesses, based on Australian Business Number registrations, compares favourably with the wider region which experienced growth of 5.2 per cent for the same period.
Moorabool attracted 78 new business registrations in the July-September period.
Moorabool Shire Council CEO, Robert Dobrzynski, said the figures show that Moorabool is competing strongly to attract new investment and business.
"an increase in new business registrations of 6.4 per cent is an impressive statistic that reflects investor and consumer confidence in Moorabool's capacity for economic growth. New businesses are the result of a growing local economy, stron local business confidence and sustained commercial viability which comprise the robust and healthy business environment we are now capitalizing on.
"not only has Moorabool recorded a 6.4 per cent jump in new business registrations but the Shire has also surpassed regional business growth by 1.2 per cent. Moorabool provides a strong grounding for new business development, along with existing business expansion, which sustains a diverse range of businesses in each operating sector while also encouraging the development of innovative business ventures. These are the elements required to attract new business and that is exactly what we are seeing with these figures.
"Council is being pro-active in promoting Moorabool as a place to live, work and invest and these figures affirm our confidence that the Shire will continue to grow both economically and socially.
"Moorabool is preparing to launch the ‘Life was meant to be easy' campaign to further stimulate interest in the lifestyle opportunities in the Shire and recognition of Moorabool as a choice of destination for new businesses and the new residents they attract," he said.
