Moorabool Matters : March 2007
The Moorabool Shire has joined a cluster of regional Councils to pool information and resources to further attract the film and television industry to the region. The film attraction website Film Ballarat Hepburn and Beyond website, www.filmballarathepburnandbeyond.com.au has been developed through funds provided by the State Government and Film Victoria and will play a pivotal role in further developing the film and television industry within the region.
The Moorabool Shire has had two major film production shoots
recently. Charlotte’s
Web filmed in Greendale, staring Dakota Fanning and the voices
of Julia Roberts, Oprah Winfrey, Steve Buscemi amd John Cleese.
Parts of Ghost Rider were
filmed in Bacchus Marsh starring Hollywood’s Nicholas
Cage.
The website provides key information in relation to the region’s
locations , towns and
villages , facilities and
services, weather
patterns , news and
events, policies,
incentives
and contact
information .
A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) has been signed between the
partner organisations to work collaboratively together for regional
promotion, marketing, economic, social and cultural benefit. The
website builds upon the Moorabool Shire Council Film Policy
(2006).
