Rail Improvements Impress Commuters
Residents from Bacchus Marsh welcome the news that train services for travellers will be enhanced by the proposed duplication of the rail track from Sunshine to Bacchus Marsh. This project is funded as part of the Federal Government's grant for national rail infrastructure, an investment of $3.2b.
Duplication of the line will allow regional trains to run express to the city without being delayed by suburban services. Work will also include extension of platforms and other infrastructure developments to enable eight-car trains to operate on the line to Bacchus Marsh.
A large number of locals (estimated at 65% of the resident community in Bacchus Marsh) use train services daily. For travellers - office workers, students attending secondary and tertiary studies, for those with appointments in the city - commuting will be made easier by the provision of more frequent train services, uninterrupted travel, and a bigger seating capacity for comfort. This is an impressive initiative.
