Education
One of the first things you learn about Moorabool is that learning itself is a priority. The Shire is home to not only seven private and twelve public primary schools, but also one private and one public secondary school. The region is also serviced by education facilities in the larger provincial cities of Ballarat and Geelong, and close by in metropolitan Melbourne.
Wherever you live in Moorabool, your children won’t have far to travel to receive an education.
Although located mainly around the population centres of Bacchus Marsh, Ballan and Gordon, the Shire’s 21 schools lie within handy commuting distance from all parts of the Shire and is supported by public transport services including a bus service.
The Shire also boasts three training centres - Ballan Community House and Adult Education, ‘The Laurels’ Adult Education in Bacchus Marsh, Darley Neighbourhood House, plus the Bacchus Marsh Library and mobile book service.
Children’s services include seven pre-schools, family day care, occasional care, holiday programs and playgroups.
